Manchester United & Chelsea chase Inter's Wesley Sneijder

Wesley Sneijder has undoubtedly been one of the best players in the world over the past two years, leading Inter to a historic treble in 2010 and his native Dutch to the World Cup Final in South Africa.
Therefore it's fair to say that a transfer of one of the best players in the world would be the biggest transfer in the summer.
Inter's president has admitted that Sir Alex Ferguson has contacted him as to the Dutchman's availability, with Chelsea also said to have expressed interest in the midfielder.
Sneijder would obviously be a great addition for either club; £40m has been mentioned as a potential price tag on Inter's main man, like all Interista worldwide i want to see him stay with the Nerazzurri but reports are suggesting he's had enough of Italian football and has got his eye on a move to the English Premiership.

Can Inter really acheive the impossible and win back to back trebles?

Last season Inter acheived the one thing never acheived by an Italian club before by winning the treble and now as the season starts it's run in here we are again with the chance of making history with back to back trebles, can it be done?  I for one believe we can if the team puts their hearts and souls into every match left.  Winning the treble again would be amazing but it would be made even more special by the terrible first half of the season we had under Rafa Benitez...

Inter v Lecce match report and reactions

After week 30 of this Serie A season Inter are now only 2 points behind league leaders AC Milan and the race for the Scudetto is now well and truly on. But they need to play much better than they did today in the Derby after next weeks international break. There was a spark of creativity and flair missing from today's game but as I said in my preview I was expecting Inter to ease off a bit for this match and to be fair they got the result that was needed to take full advantage of Milan's slip up last night.

Inter v Lecce preview

Well here we are again ready for another Serie A game, Inter's week 30 game is at home to Lecce. It's been a fantastic week for us with our magnificent comeback champions league win against Bayern Munich and Milan's loss against Palermo will cut their lead down to 2 points if we keep our heads and get the win today. The Derby will turn out to be one of the most important games of the season after all, and to put the cherry on top Milan will be without Ibra & Pato for that game! But for now we've got our game with Lecce to deal with then it's the International break before the derby.

Inter's reactions to Champions League draw

Following Inter's draw with Shalke, the team considered to be the weakest in the last 8 of this years competition, we can consider ourselves fortunate we didn't get one of the big teams and hopefully qualifying for the semis should be a walk in the park for us as long as the players don't get complacent.  See what various representatives of Inter had to say on the draw.....

Champions League Quarter Finals & Semi Final Draw

So the Champions league quarter finals have been drawn and decided, Inter have drawn Shalke 04 in the Quarter finals with the winner facing Celsea or Man Utd in the Semis. What do you think of the draw? Are you going to watch your favourite team? Get all your Champions League match tickets by following the link above.  See below for the full draws & my predictions.

Eto'o Foundation evening & Lucio denies wanting to return to Bayern

From Didier Drogba to Valeria Marini, Jarno Trulli to Isabella Aragonese, Massimo Moratti to Adriano Galliani - who only met long enough to shake each other's hands. In total, around 350 footballers and other celebrities from sport and show business attended the charity evening organised by Samuel Eto'o's foundation to raise funds for a paediatric wing at Laquinitie Hospital in Cameroon.
First the gala dinner, then Andrea Bocelli's performance on stage, and afterwards a series of auctions, hosted by Paolo Bonolis, of collectors' items: from Usain Bolt's shoes to the shirt worn by Eto'o in last season's Champions League final and the one worn by Marco Materazzi at the 2006 World Cup, to the ball signed by all the Inter players, who were in attendance at the event held in Milan this evening.
"My foundation is my life," explained Eto'o. "My continent, Africa, is different. It hasn't had the same fortune as others. Unlike other kids I've been fortunate enough to become a footballer. Football has given me everything and I feel I have to do something to help others."

Marco Materazzi "Inter crazy? Maybe, but..."

On his official website Matrix had this to say on comments made by Bayern Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger....

"Inter crazy? Maybe, but if this is what crazy is then I think it's fantastic to be Inter - a team that's capable of pulling off feats like that and being involved in such intense, vibrant matches, just how I like them.

Bayern Munich 2-3 Inter, 3-3 Agg. The comeback kings do it again to secure quarter final place

Inter are through to the Champions league quarter finals on away goals after a 3-3 Agg win against Bayern Munich. All I can say about this match that ended 2-3 on the night, is what a game!!! Eto'o opened the scoring for Inter but by half time we were 2-1 down and it was looking like our title defense was in tatters, but Inter being Inter they picked themselves up and came out fighting, Sneijder scoring a low long range effort the Pandev secured the win with a late goal assisted by Eto'o. Inter thus qualify for the quarter-finals after completing a European comeback for the first time since 1993 – an impossible comeback, they said. But with Inter anything is possible. With this win we are one step closer to repeating the back to back European titles of the 60's and maybe even an unprecidented back to back treble!

Champions League Preview: Bayern Munich v Inter Milan

After Inter's shock draw against Brescia on Friday i was starting to think the Scudetto was slipping through our fingers, luckily though Bari somehow managed to hold onto a 1-1 draw with AC Milan meaning that we're still very much in the title race, but for now Inter are concentrating on overcoming the defeat we suffered to Bayern in the last Champions League game, since which the Germans have been in shocking form, so much so that Louis Van Gaal has had his contract terminated from the end of this season. This was fantastic news for Inter approaching the return leg in Munich until Saturday when Bayern re found their form with a 6-0 win over Hamburg meaning that to proceed to the next round we have got quite a challenge on our hands, that being said we beat them 2-0 in the final last year so the possibility of outscoring them remains likely we just need to see the determination from Inter that we had back in Madrid last May, if we can keep hold of that belief then anything is possible for the Nerazzurri including an unprecedented back to back Treble, FINGERS CROSSED!!!

Leonardo & Nagatomo speak about Fridays disaster in Japan

After the game against Brescia the post match press conference with Leonardo touched on the tragic earthquake & tsunami that struck Japan earlier on Friday, also Inter's Japanese wingback Nagatomo thanks the club, players and fans for their support at this hard time.

Brescia 1-1 Inter Match Report, Interviews & Reactions

The Serie A 2010/2011 week 29 was full of mixed emotions before kick off, the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Italian Unification were contrasted by the black armbands worn by both sides in a gesture of solidarity towards the Japanese people caught up in the aftermath of yesterday's tragedy in Japan.
Inter started the game slightly shaky as they worked to suss out how to break down Brescia's defense (which consisted of 8 players for most of the game) but they soon got into their stride and started to lay with fantastic movement and awareness eventually breaking them down from a Sneijder corner which was knocked on by Ranocchia then slotted home by Eto'o to claim his 31st goal of the season which he dedicated to the people of Japan. For the rest of the 1st half we stayed in control but didn't manage to put the game to bed. Throughout the half Inter's backline was looking very sketchy when Brescia managed to catch us on the break. In the second half Arcari repeatedly denied Inter (Pandev in particular); then after a ridiculous backheader from Cordoba which gifted Caracciolo the equaliser then in a grand finale Julio Cesar saved a 90th minute penalty from Caracciolo, given from a bad tackle from Cordoba that saw him dismissed with a straight Red card. Then in injury time Brescia's Caracciolo was dismissed for getting a second yellow. Inter really need to do something about our defending as it may have cost us the Scudetto.

Leonardo: Milan is still the number 1 city in world football

SAN SIRO: Leonardo reckons Milan is still the capital of football Searching through the Internet i found this interesting article on the Manchester evening news website, that shows that the Milanese teams are keeping their great city in the hearts of all football fans. And in reply to my Dad & Brothers who are Man Utd fans and claim that Inter are no where near as good as their precious Utd all i can say is that the stats speak for themselves - 18 times League champions, 3 European Champions and a Treble each for both teams makes Inter & Man Utd equal in stature.  So to my dear family and other Utd fans that haven't seen the Nerazzurri light - Stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

Brescia v Inter preview & predictions

On the eve of our week 29 game away to Brescia, after another week without a midweek game, Inter are ready for the unusual Friday evening kick off at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti. This will give us plenty of time to prepare for our Champions league game against Bayern next week. A win against Brescia is essential to keep the pressure on AC Milan especially now they've been knocked out of the Champions league they will be even more focused on taking the Scudetto.

Happy Birthday Inter 103 today

The 9th March is a very special date for all us Nerazzurri, it's the date back in 1908 when a group of people created the greatest football team in the world as they broke away from the other Milan team to become a multi ethnic team with players from all around the world, a tradition that still stands true to this day. So to all the people that insist on moaning that Inter hasn't many Italian players, that's exactly what we're about!
We are FC INTERNAZIONALE!!!

Inter eye up summer move for Carlos Tevez as Diego Milito replacment

In the last week there have been rumours of Genoa wanting to re-sign Inters treble winning hero Diego Milito after he has spent most of this season on the sidelines due to ongoing injuries.  As sad as i'd be to see Milito leave Inter it has to be said that when he has played this season he's been no where near as influential as he was last season and rumours that are flying around today make this that little bit more bearable as reports suggest that President Moratti has got his eye on Manchester City's want away captain Carlos Tevez.

Inter demolish Genoa with 5 second half goals

Inters week 28 5-2 victory over Genoa marks the seventh victory of Leonardo's Nerazzurri era, and just proves that Inter are very dangerous in front of goal and they are more than capable of taking all the titles again this season, we just need to stay focused on our targets and not get complacent.

Inter v Genoa preview

Preparations for Inters match against tomorrow are now complete with the Nerazzurri squad having the rare luxury of a full week of training without the interruption of a midweek game, not only that we've got the traditional kick off time of 15:00 instead of the evening games we've usually get on a Sunday. Tomorrows Serie A 2010/11 Week 28 match against Genoa at home will mark the two month mark with Leonardo in charge and a win would keep the pressure on AC Milan for the title.

Football Chiefs Mull Goal-Line Gadgetry

Football bosses are ready to open the door to a revolution in how the game is refereed by accepting the need for goal-line technology.
The search is still on for a system that meets Fifa's exacting requirements, but the world governing body appears now to have recognised the need to provide assistance to match officials.

Jose Mourinho In Airport Stabbing Scare

A bodyguard for football manager Jose Mourinho is believed to have been stabbed protecting the Real Madrid and former Inter Milan boss as he signed autographs.
The minder was injured by a sharp object during an incident at A Coruna airport in northwest Spain.

Inter & Chelsea keep tabs on Kaka as Real look to cut their losses

Chelsea and Inter Milan have been put on red alert after reports emerged that Real Madrid are ready to offload Kaka in the summer.
Speculation has intensified of late that Los Blancos are prepared to cut their losses on the Brazilian playmaker who has endured a frustrating time at the Santiago Bernabeu since arriving in a £58million (Dh345m) deal from AC Milan in 2009.

Moratti on the league

Monday's game between AC Milan and Napoli means Inter now sit in second place in the league, but Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti doesn't believe it will all come down to the Milan derby: "I don't think it will be decisive," he said, shortly before entering the new CONI headquarters being inaugurated today, "but it's all a lot of fun. It's starting to get interesting now."
